Post 16

From the Key Stage 5 Manager:

A very warm welcome to this important part of the college website, whether you are an existing student at Patchway Community College or looking to join us from another school or college for your post-16 studies.

We have three aims that underpin our ethos:

  • To meet the needs of each individual student
  • To provide an environment to enable all students to reach their highest potential
  • To provide a variety of opportunities to extend and develop personal qualities and skills.

In the Post-16 Centre, we are proud to provide you with a stimulating education that will help you achieve your ambitions. We want you to be the best that you can be.

The specialised accommodation comprises of teaching rooms, study facilities, two networked suites of multi-media computers and a social area that you have ownership of.

You are treated as individuals who matter, with the highest value placed on your achievements and wellbeing. Tutors and teachers will encourage you to aim high, and assist you in choosing the pathway that is right for you. We provide courses for a wide range of abilities and our students leave us to take up places in employment, further education or university equipped with new skills and qualifications.

I hope you enjoy browsing our website; don’t forget to visit the downloads section to view our prospectus in full in order to get detailed information on all the courses that we offer!

We look forward to seeing you in the near future.

From the Students' Social Committee

“Welcome to Patchway Community College Sixth Form!

I’m Rosie and I am the Executive Student Officer at Patchway Community College. My role consists of organising and   overseeing all of the   events here, and participating in discussions and decisions with students and staff about how to develop the Partnership even further.

For me, it was really important to choose the exact combination of courses that I wanted and the   wide range   of subjects offered by Concorde provided me with that combination.

Travelling off-site to one centre has been a great experience; I’ve been able to keep the familiarity of my main site   and also make new friends from another centre. The  timetables and the transport make travelling so easy; I’m even able to  study after hours  off-site and take a free bus home as they run until 5pm each day. Both my sites have the same friendly atmosphere and excellent teaching and so I’ve loved Year 12 and am really looking forward to Year 13.

Being part of Concorde is a thoroughly enjoyable experience where you can build many strong friendships and prepare yourself for the rest of your lives! I promise that you will have fun!

Rosie Foale, Co-ordinating Officer.
