Geography, history and religious education are taught as separate specialist subjects across years 7 to 9.  Citizenship and PSHE are delivered as part of the tutorial and learning challenge curriculum in Year 7 and as separate subjects in Years 8 and 9.

Students are taught in mixed ability groups. There is an emphasis on active learning and developing student skills of enquiry and communication. Fieldwork and extra-curricular activities, such as the history club, are popular with students.
