In Years 7-9 students have the opportunity of working card, wood, metal, plastic, textiles and food. Students are introduced to a design process and are taught basic skills which they use in a number of projects throughout Key Stage 3. Drawing and modelling skills are also developed. Safety in practical areas is an integral part of the course. Students develop their graphical drawing skills through traditional methods and the use of 2D Design and other programmes. Students also follow a programme of Technology Skills lessons that introduce them to the theory behind the subject and develop their skills in writing about and answering examination questions on the subject.
