Year 8
An ‘Inspirations’ morning – We invite local employers to come in to school and run a two hour interactive workshop to a group of 20 students to give them a taste of the ‘world of work’.
The Real Game – An off timetable morning in October when students spend the morning playing a game involving jobs, lifestyle choices and budgeting.

Year 9
Ambitions event at University of the West of England – Students are able to choose five 20 minute workshops to attend exploring different employment sectors. In the evening the event is open for Year 9-13 to attend with parents.
‘Options’ workshop – Small groups of students working with our careers adviser on GCSE and BTEC course choices.
A morning with the Marines – team building activities

Year 10
Work Experience Week – All students will have the chance to find a placement for a week through Year 10. These are always very positive experiences for the students.
An ‘Inspirations’ morning - We invite local employers to come in to school and run a half hour interactive workshop to a group of 20 students to give them a taste of the ‘world of work’. The students will visit 6 different workshops over the morning.
Mock Interviews – All students will take part in our mock interviews afternoon where we have external interviewers come in to school and interview students individually gaining feedback at the end of the interview. Business wear is essential!

Year 11
Throughout the school year, students will be given invaluable information regarding Post 16 options. These include talks from our Head of Post 16, local colleges and universities and apprenticeship opportunities. There is also the opportunity to have a careers interview with our careers adviser and attend our Post 16 Open Evening.
