Exploring the Role of a Teacher
Visits: intended for visitors who are seriously interested in teaching, these can last one or two days
Schools Introduction Programme, organised by us on behalf of the TDA: this programme involves a 10 day visit in a curriculum based department, by people who are considering teaching as a career. Visitors take part in a balanced programme of pastoral and teaching and learning activities.
SAS (Student Associate Scheme): This is run jointly by UWE and the University of Bristol and encourages undergraduates to consider a career in teaching. You can choose to be attached to one school for either 10 or 15 days. You will also receive a payment for this classroom experience.
Pre-PGCE Experience: prior to starting a PGCE course, many ITT courses require you to spend some time in a school. We welcome such visits whenever possible
